Ashland Poetry Press author Richard Jackson is named finalist for Barnett Prize

Southern Lit Alliance has announced Richard Jackson as one of three finalists for the Barnett Prize.

Ashland Poetry Press published Richard Jackson's Resonance (2010) and Out of Place (2014).

"The Barnett Prize will be awarded annually to recognize the outstanding achievement of authors in our area and to raise awareness of the exceptional literary talent in our region," officials said. "The award is offered through the generosity of Warren Barnett, art philanthropist and president of Barnett & Company.

"The winner will be announced as part of our FocusLit luncheon, featuring New York Times bestseller Mary Alice Monroe, on Wednesday, June 12 at 11:30 a.m."
